Daniel Zepeda, SE, is a Senior Principal with Degenkolb Engineers and serves as the Los Angeles Office Director. With over 20 years of experience, Daniel has extensive experience both in new design and the renovation of existing buildings, including seismic evaluation and retrofits. He is heavily involved in the professional community, focusing his efforts on reducing the seismic risk in our communities. He has been an associate member of the ASCE 41 committee for the past three cycles, a member of the SEAOC Existing Buildings Committee, SEAOSC co-chair of the Existing Buildings Committee, and a past SEAOSC Board member. He is also a member of the SEAOSC Legislative Action Committee, SEAOC Resilience Committee, and a member of the Functional Recovery Task Group, which is developing recommendations for the upcoming ASCE 7. Daniel also has vast experience in performing post-earthquake reconnaissance, including the 2010 Chile Earthquake, the 2010 Baja California Earthquake, the 2016 Taiwan Earthquake, and the 2017 Mexico City Earthquake.
