Congratulations to Diptojit Datta for Winning First Place in the Best Student Paper Award at EWSHM 2022!

We are excited to announce that Diptojit Datta has been awarded first place in the prestigious Best Student Paper Award at the European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring (EWSHM) held in Palermo, Italy in July 2022. He also received the Student Travel Grant to attend this conference. His paper titled, "High-speed 3D railroad tie deflection mapping in real-time using an array of air-coupled non-contact transducers," impressed the international committee with its innovation and significant findings aimed at making the railroad industry safer. 

Diptojit's achievement highlights our department's commitment to excellence in research and showcases the talent and dedication of our students. We congratulate Diptojit on this well-deserved recognition and extend our gratitude to his faculty advisor, Dr. Francesco Lanza di Scalea.
