- Admissions Requirements

Admission to the UCSD graduate division requires at least a B.S. degree in engineering, physical sciences, or mathematics with an overall minimum grade point average of 3.00.
- Application Fee (non-refundable) & Deposit Fees

US Citizens, Permanent Residents, and Undocumented Applicants: $120.00
International Applicants: $140.00
Please note the application fee is non-refundable.
The application fee is payable by major credit card: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and JCB.
You can apply to more than one department. However, you will need to pay the fee for each application.
There are no limits on the number of applications, but they need to be in different departments.
If you are experiencing financial hardships, you may request an Application Fee Waiver.
If accepted into a SE Graduate program, there are no deposit fees at this time. This is subject to change. - Admission Statistics

The GRE test requirement is waived admissions cycle for Master of Science (M.S.) applicants. With that said, because the Department of Structural Engineering reviews all application materials in its entirety, GRE scores will also be considered if submitted. However, the GRE is required for Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) applicants.
Applicants who are applying for the Department of Structural Engineering should take the GRE exam no later than November to ensure the timely receipt of score results. Consult the GRE Information & Registration Bulletin for further information at www.ets.org.
The general GRE test is required; subject GRE test is not required.
Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing are the three areas tested.

UCSD Institution Code: 4836
International students from non-English speaking countries are required to demonstrate proficiency in English via the TOEFL exam. The minimum TOEFL score required is 85 for the internet-based test (iBt). The minimum score for the IELTS exam is 7. Additional information can be found at www.ets.org.

- Transcripts (from all institutions attended since High School)*
